On the afternoon of September 20th, the "Smart Manufacturing Thematic Conference" under the framework of the World Young Scientists Forum was officially launched in Nanjing Jiangbei New Area. As a key component of the World Young Scientists Forum (Nanjing), this conference focused on the core theme of "Intelligent Manufacturing Leap - From Intelligent Perception to Equipment Revolution", attracting over 120 participants including academicians and experts in the global smart manufacturing field, young researchers, representatives of university research teams, enterprise leaders and guests from investment institutions. All parties conducted in-depth discussions and exchanges on the cutting-edge trends and future development directions of the smart manufacturing field, building an important cooperation platform to promote the innovation breakthrough of smart manufacturing technology and the transformation and upgrading of the industry.
Yuan Chuanjun, Deputy Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Nanjing Jiangbei New Area, was invited to attend the conference and delivered a speech. He pointed out that smart manufacturing is not only the core driving force for promoting the high-quality development of the manufacturing industry, but also an important pillar for building a modern industrial system. In the thematic report session, Professor Li Shihua, Dean of the School of Automation of Southeast University and winner of the National Outstanding Youth Science Fund, took "Research Progress of Autonomous Intelligent Systems for Smart Manufacturing" as the theme, and in-depth analyzed the application potential and technical challenges of autonomous intelligent systems in smart manufacturing scenarios; Li Feng, founder of XRBT High-Performance Robot Battery in Germany and President of the Sino-German Smart Manufacturing Alliance, shared around the topic of "Producing High-Performance Batteries with Printing Technology", and introduced in detail the breakthrough progress made in the new generation of battery manufacturing technology, providing a new perspective for the development of the industry.
The roundtable forum session of the conference was hosted by Professor Shen Dekui, Vice Dean of the Nanjing Jiangbei Innovation Research Institute of Southeast University. Academician Luo Kaihong of the European Academy of Sciences and the Royal Academy of Engineering of the United Kingdom, together with Professor Li Shihua and Professor Dong Zhenjiang, participated in the discussion. The guests conducted in-depth discussions around the key theme of "Intelligent Manufacturing Leap: How to Bridge the Industrial Gap from 'Lighthouse' to 'Forest'" from multiple dimensions such as technological innovation breakthroughs, practical industrial applications and ecological collaborative development, and put forward valuable suggestions for the future development of the smart manufacturing industry. Professor Wang Xiaoyu released the research results related to "Robot Shared Control and Its Application in Smart Manufacturing", providing a new solution for the efficient application of robots in industrial scenarios; Professor Hao Menglong demonstrated the "Generative Design and Additive Manufacturing Integration Technology for Fluid Thermal Control Products", which effectively improved the R&D and production efficiency of related products; Professor Xiang Nan introduced the latest progress of "Design and Manufacturing of Intelligent Cell Detection Instruments for Cancer Diagnosis", deeply integrating smart manufacturing technology with the medical field. These achievements fully demonstrate the strong innovation strength of Chinese young scientists in the field of smart manufacturing.
At present, smart manufacturing has become the core path leading industrial upgrading. As an important growth pole of the smart manufacturing industry in the Yangtze River Delta region, Nanjing Jiangbei New Area is continuously optimizing the industrial ecosystem, constantly strengthening the industry-university-research collaborative innovation mechanism, focusing on improving the core competitiveness of the industry, and providing solid support for Nanjing to build a globally influential highland of smart manufacturing. During the conference, the Smart Manufacturing Industry Development Management Office of Nanjing Jiangbei New Area signed a university-local strategic cooperation agreement with the Nanjing Jiangbei New Area Innovation Research Institute of Southeast University, and also signed industrial cooperation agreements with the WFM Robot Cluster Collaborative Service AI Base Platform Project and the Multi-parameter EEG Life Monitoring Robot Project.
